Testimonials from students

“I attend the Mama & Tot classes with my two year old and I love it. Classes where you can bring a little one along are few and far between and without this session I wouldn’t be able to get to a yoga class. There is a lovely selection of toys to keep the children entertained, the yoga is great and I often get to enjoy a few minutes of real relaxation at the end, knowing that Renate is keeping an eye on my little girl (who has been known to join in with some down dogs too!)”

– Louise & Imogen (2years)

“I started Yoga 4 Pregnancy with Renate when I was 18 weeks pregnant and then moved on to Yoga 4 Mums and Babies when my little boy was 10 weeks old. Now he’s 9 months and we’re in the Yoga 4 Mums and Toddlers class! The lessons are a fantastic way to do something for yourself whilst doing something for your babies too. Renate is not only a great Yoga teacher but is also wonderful with the babies and is great at keeping them entertained when it comes to the very much needed relaxation session at the end of each class. I always feel very energised at the end of each session and it’s also a great forum to meet other local Mums with babies of a similar age. If you need a pick me up in a busy week then I’d definitely recommend yoga with Renate!”

Frequently asked questions

What if my toddler is very active?

It is a very relaxed class, where I want everyone to feel comfortable, safe and relaxed. That means that the little ones are in “charge”, i.e. their needs are priority and if we need to get “noisy, wild and totally alive” than we can do that to!

What should I wear to the yoga class?

It is best to wear loose fitting, comfortable clothes for the baby and yourself – nothing that restricts your movement or your breathing.

Yoga is practiced in bare feet.

You might like to bring socks and jumper/cardigan for extra warmth during the relaxation.

Do I need to have my own yoga mat?

If you have your own mat and you’d prefer to use it then you are welcome to do so.   Proper yoga mats are much better than the general aerobic type that are liable to slip.

Mats are available to borrow and to buy at class.

For the relaxation you might find a small pillow useful.

What should I bring for my toddler?

Please bring all the general essentials from muslin, snacks, nappies, possible drink etc,

Should I eat before coming to class?

Wherever possible please try not to eat a large meal for a few hours before you come to class – it is not terribly comfortable to have a full stomach while practicing.

Please bring water if you need it.

Do I need any previous yoga experience?

Yoga is not competitive!

It does not matter if you haven’t practiced before – everybody has his or her individual strengths and weaknesses to work with.

You will notice how your strength and flexibility increases after just a few sessions.

It is very important to listen to your body to only do what you feel you are capable of, and make sure to rest if you feel you need to.
